Rest and Just Be
Truth. Freedom. Choice. Consequence(s). Conviction. Danger, not safety.
By choosing to pursue and reveal truth, pride is forgone with ego (edge God out) crushed and eyes renewed.
At times, freedom in truth invites a kind of suffering, which can be frightening and repelling. A friend put me into perspective and asked me last night: who told you struggling is bad, Kate? And if passion originally means “to suffer,” what are you willing to suffer for? What are you passionate about? In defending your truth and passion, what makes suffering for it life-giving and worthwhile?
As I learn to be ok with not having it all figured out just yet, I embrace my truth: although I may not be perfect, I am certainly real.
I am a work in progress: setting boundaries, fighting pride, and resting in Him …remembering that I am beloved at the end of the day! By clinging onto the promise of Someone higher than me, I am founded on and grounded in something deeper. God, my Refuge and Strength, knows who I am as He directs the story of my life, and makes sense of all my decisions and actions. By leaps and bounds, my faith continues to grow because of His Truth and Boundless Grace.
Today, I am grateful for Trish, Julie, and Isabel W for keeping me company, showing me my heart, and reminding me of who I am. Their warm presence, patience, and wisdom enlightened and uplifted my spirit, mending what was almost broken.
A challenge for you and I: Let’s celebrate small victories and count our blessings from now on by creating a list of “100 Things to be Thankful for.”
